Text on the global crisis
Translated into English by: Na Montebello
I make a slideshow for you. Ready?

It is common, you've seen these images before. Who knows by now become accustomed to them. Start with those starving children of Africa. Those with the bones visible beneath the skin. Those flies with eyes.

The slides come.

Exodus of whole populations.

Hungry people.

Poor people.

People with no future.

For decades, we saw these images.

On Discovery Channel, the National Geographic, the photo contests.

Some even became objects of art, in books of renowned photographers.

Images of misery that are touched.

They are images that create platforms of government.

NGOs create

Create entities.

Create social movements.

The misery in the world, either in Uganda or in Ceará, in India or in Bogotá sensitizes.

Year after year, it discussed what to do. Years of pressure to reach a multitude of leaders that have taken place in the most powerful nations on the planet.

They say that 40 billion dollars would be needed to solve the problem of world hunger.

Solving, "capicce? = Extinguish.

There would be no more little boy terribly thin and no future in any corner of the planet.

I do not know how to calculate this number.

But say it is underestimated.

Say it is twice as much.

Or the triple.

With 120 billion the world would be a fairer place.

There was no parade, political or philosophical discourse or photo to raise awareness.

There was no documentary, NGOs, lobby or pressure to solve.

But in a week, the same leaders, the same powers, took the hat 2.2 trillion dollars (700 billion U.S., 1.5 tri in Europe) to save the starving people of belly was full. Banks, manufacturers of vehicles and investors.

As one person commented, it is a pity that the text is only in blogs and not the mass media, that you know very well to stop and pet.

If desired, pass, if not, what matters?

It will continue like that ...
